Charles Beard, chief operating officer at Guidehouse, has won WashingtonExec’s 2020 Chief Officer Award for Private Company COO.
In its inaugural year, the Chief Officer Awards luncheon was held June 17 as a virtual live-streamed program to accommodate the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations about in-person events. Over 500 people watched as C-suite executives in both industry and government were recognized for their innovation, expertise, impact, and thought leadership.
Since joining Guidehouse in 2018, Beard has overseen day-to-day business operations. Most notably, he managed the 2019 acquisition of Navigant Consulting, a move that advanced Guidehouse’s commercial consulting capabilities and thought leadership.
In 2020, Beard and his team have three focus areas. The first one is leveraging user-centered design to understand how to meet the needs of Guidehouse clients, workers and partners. The second is reimagining its employee experience, from benefits to continuing education, diversity to office services. And lastly, completing operational integration of its acquisition and continuing to deliver strategic agility.
Beard was named among WashingtonExec’s Top 25 Execs to Watch in 2020.
