Melvin Greer, the chief data scientist at Intel Corp., who’s helping chart the future of artificial intelligence in his role at the company, was awarded with an inaugural WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award for the AI Executive of the Year.
Greer has drawn accolades for his work building Intel’s data science platform using AI and machine learning. He was recently named a “Top 10 AI Exec to Watch” by WashingtonExec.
As a professor, Greer also teaches AI and is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and U.S. National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine and GUIRR. Working with Data for Democracy, he is part of a group of data scientists working on developing a code of AI ethics and addressing the legal, ethical and societal implications of wider AI adoption.
The inaugural Pinnacle Awards, which honor and influencers in the GovCon space, were presented by WashingtonExec on Nov. 5.
Winners were named from list of 50 finalists across 13 categories.
