Leidos has named Josh Salmanson vice president of its defensive cyber practice, where he will lead the company’s vision for cyber defense and help protect customer missions, from enterprise systems to deployed units.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to the Leidos team,” said Steve Hull, Leidos Digital Modernization Sector president. “His proven expertise in cybersecurity innovation and his deep understanding of both offensive and defensive cyber operations has already made a significant difference both within DigMod and across Leidos. His team will be instrumental in rapidly delivering solutions to securely and resiliently defend customer missions.”
Salmanson’s appointment reinforces Leidos’ focus on strengthening federal cyber readiness through automation, speed and scale, the company said.
“Organizations need scalable, repeatable defensive cyber solutions that enable them to stay ahead of adversaries,” Salmanson said. “It’s time to deliver more secure outcomes and higher-value solutions by applying the power and speed of today’s technology innovations.”
Salmanson brings over 30 years of experience in technology, cybersecurity and business leadership, with deep knowledge of mission-critical systems at national and global levels.
Before joining Leidos, he held executive roles at Telos, ECS, NCI, Parsons and Lockheed Martin, where he led cybersecurity innovation and strategic growth. His work has spanned the full federal IT landscape, supporting civilian, defense and intelligence community clients.
As head of the defensive cyber practice, Salmanson will align Leidos’ cyber capabilities with the core functions of cyber defense: identify, protect, detect, respond and recover. His team will focus on standardizing and accelerating delivery of repeatable, high-value solutions to improve cyber defense across government and industry.
