The U.S. Air Force (USAF) awarded MacAulay-Brown Inc. (MacB) a five-year, $47 million multiple award Indefinite-delivery/Indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, MacB announced Feb. 2.
“Spectrum dominance is critical to winning on the modern battlefield,” MacB’s Advanced Technology Group Senior Vice President and General Manager Tim Lawrence said. “For 35 years, we have worked closely with the Air Force to develop many of the ground breaking EW systems in use today. We look forward to continuing to support AFRL to counter advancing radar designs and techniques.”
Under the terms of the Advanced Novel Spectrum Warfare Environment Research (ANSWER) contract,
MacB will investigate, analyze and develop fully adaptable and proactive Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions to counter challenges to spectrum dominance faced by U.S. and Allied forces. The focus of the work will be on traditional and irregular spectrum warfare, with an emphasis on incorporating cyberspace operations, for effective countermeasure and protection missions and be conducted in conjunction with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
MacB, based in Vienna, Va., is one of seven prime contractors named to the ANSWER IDIQ contract.
