SAIC’s planned separation into two independent, publicly traded companies will go into effect next year, but the company announced today key human resources (HR) leadership appointments for the businesses.
Brian Keenan, SAIC’s current executive vice president for HR, and Sarah Allen will take on new roles. Keenan will lead the function for the government technical services and enterprise information technology (IT) business. Allen will be appointed to lead HR, focused on delivering science and technology solutions in three high-growth markets reflecting high priority, long-term global needs in national security, engineering, and health.
“Brian and Sarah bring the experience, outstanding talent and genuine passion to these roles that we need in order for our planned new companies to succeed,” said John Jumper, SAIC Chairman and CEO. “SAIC’s most valuable resource has always been its people, and I am confident that Brian and Sarah’s efforts will only help develop and strengthen that resource.”
Keenan has been with SAIC since 2000 when he joined as the Eastern Region HR director, and in 2004 became vice president and director of U.S. HR Operations. Before SAIC, Keenan had over 15 years of experience with Mobil and ExxonMobil. He holds an MBA from the University of Houston and is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy.
Allen currently serves as the Senior VP, Human Resources of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group within SAIC, which is one of the largest support organizations to the Intelligence Community. Before SAIC, Allen was the Director, Human Resources, in the TASC Business Unit of Northrop Grumman Corporation. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from James Madison University, and is a graduate of executive education programs, which included studies at Cornell, Tufts, USC, UCLA, and Harvard Business School.
SAIC’s current deputy director of HR for the group, Michelle Vaughn, will take over for Allen when she joins her new role.
