ManTech has promoted Eric “Mell” Mellinger to vice president of business development for its defense sector.

Since joining the company in 2019, Mellinger has helped secure several major Defense Department contracts, including nearly $1 billion in awards from the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab and the Deputy Commandant for Information in 2024.

Before ManTech, he served as a senior professional staff member for the House Armed Services Committee, where he focused on defense reform and helped shape modernization efforts. During his military career, Mellinger led global crisis response missions across the Middle East, Africa and Indo-Pacific.

“With 30 years’ experience in senior-level military roles, Mell holds deep understanding of U.S. armed forces’ mission technology needs in virtually every battle scenario,” said David Hathaway, president of ManTech’s Defense Sector. “His strong alignment with every DoD agency is a win not only for ManTech, but for national security itself.”
