SOS International LLC has been awarded a $9 million contract to support Army communications operations in Afghanistan.

The 5-year contract with the Deputy Chief of Staff Communications, Public Affairs Office at Resolute Support Headquarters provides for monitoring news media reports from local, regional and international agencies in an effort to inform and counter misinformation, company officials said.

“SOSi offers a unique mix of qualified personnel with experience working in the region, along with the highly technical capabilities tailored specifically to the needs of the U.S. Army,” said President and CEO Julian Setian.

SOSi has provided communications support for the office since 2009. The company’s EV3 cloud-based analysis engine is capable of mining unstructured data and delivering reports that enable users to see patterns and events.

“(SOSi subsidiary) Exovera offers innovative tools to facilitate the government’s ability to monitor and analyze traditional and social media trends,” said Exovera President Jeremy Davis. “EV3 combines advanced data analysis, visualization tools and multilingual human analysis to provide clients with a unique perspective on social, cultural and political attitudes in target locations across the globe.”

SOSi is a family-owned and -operated business that has served the defense and government services industry for more than 25 years.
