The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia will host the 2015 Sweet Home Virginia Gala on Oct. 9, 2015, at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel.

The event will honor Jim Wordsworth of J.R.’s Goodtimes Inc. with the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s 2015 Community Leadership Award, which is the longest-standing community-based recognition award in Northern Virginia that honors outstanding community service.

The program for the evening starts at 6 p.m. with a reception and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner, awards presentation and live auction.

Last year’s event raised approximately $490,000 to support the Community Foundation’s work, impact and capacity to grow philanthropy to meet the most critical needs of the Northern Virginia region.

    Individual tickets are $300.
