National security, health and engineering solutions company Leidos announced Sept. 29 the appointment of James Bahel as Vice President of Business Development for the Integrated Systems Group (ISG). Bahel succeeds Mike Stewart.

“James has had a very successful career and this is a great opportunity for him to take on the next level of challenges,” Leidos Group President Sam Gordy said. “He is committed to the company’s strategy to build our intelligence and national security business. His strong leadership skills, ability to execute and understanding of the intelligence market make him an exceptional addition to Leidos.”

In his new role, Bahel will be in charge of all business development efforts for the ISG portfolio, which includes the intelligence community, Department of Defense, federal, civil, commercial and international customers.

Bahel brings more than 35 years of experience serving the intelligence community with tours in the military, as a civilian employee and the private sector. He also has more than 19 years of experience as both a military and civilian employee of the National Security Agency. Most recently, Bahel worked for Lockheed Martin as a senior business development representative.

Bahel attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in government and politics.
