On January 14, 2014, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) will host a Leadership Dinner with Matthew Olsen, Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), and a discussion about the trends and priorities in counterterrorism at The Ritz Carlton in Arlington, Va.
Prior to joining NCTC, Olsen served as the General Counsel for the National Security Agency where he was the Chief Legal Officer for NSA and the Principal Legal Advisor to the NSA Director. Olsen previously served in the Department of Justice as an Associate Deputy Attorney General and was responsible for supervising and coordinating national security and criminal matters.
INSA’s previous speakers include Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Betty Sapp, Director of the National Reconnaissance Office, Gen. Jim Clapper, Director of U.S. National Intelligence, and Letitia Long, Director of NGA.
While significant gains have been made in the past decade, terrorism remains one of the biggest threats to national security and is constantly evolving. This makes the counterterrorism effort more important now than ever. Director Olsen will share his thoughts on what must be done to continue to protect the nation.
INSA created the Leadership Dinner Series to provide key leaders in the IC the opportunity to discuss important issues related to their specific agency as well as greater intelligence and national security issues with a broad spectrum of representatives from the public, private and academic sectors. These events also allow INSA members to expand their professional networks within the IC.
