In case you missed this week’s WashingtonExec e-magazine, here’s what you need to know:

Preferred Systems Solutions Inc. (PSS) announced its acquisition of Global Services & Solutions, Inc. (GSS), which enhanced its contracting relationship with the Department of Defense.

Octo Consulting’s CEO Mehul Sanghani shared his journey from helping his family run their small motel as a child, to his education at Virginia Tech, all the way up to government contracting success.

We published our first video, an interview with KippsDeSanto & Co. managing director Bob Kipps, in WashingtonExec’s new video series. Kipps discussed the increasing competitiveness of the M&A marketplace as well as why he believes teaching entrepreneurship at the high school and college levels is important.

We also shared some upcoming events to plan for, including Nextgov, which will feature an all-star advisory board, and over 500+ federal IT managers, on September 8th and 9th.

Finally, we announced a new segment: WashingtonExec Whispers, where we bring the chatter of the contracting world front-and-center. Read what sources close to WashingtonExec are saying here.
