    Matthew W. Calkins, CEO, Appian

Appian has received back-to-back recognition as one of the best companies for employee engagement. Indeed.com, the number one job site in the world, recently named Appian the number one company to work for in the nation; in their size category. The firm has also been ranked as one of the “Top 20 Best Places to Work” by the Washington Business Journal.

Both lists are based on independently-solicited employee feedback. The rankings show that Appian keeps its commitment to engendering employee autonomy, rewarding creativity and excellence, and creating a work environment that combines the right mixture of challenge and fun.

The firm stated that its CEO personally interviews every prospective Appian employee, and that its CTO spends 50 percent of his time on recruiting. “We are very gratified to see that our efforts are being recognized,” said Appian, on its website.
