Tyto Athene, LLC, a government services provider backed by Arlington Capital Partners, announced its new Executive Advisory Board and chair, former CIA Director of Congressional Affairs Joanne Isham.
During Isham’s time in government, she served as deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and deputy director for science and technology at the CIA, where she was senior technical adviser to the director of central intelligence.
Isham is also a co-founder of the not-for-profit venture capital firm and tech accelerator In-Q-Tel, has experience building and reviewing the National Intelligence Program Budget, and was director of legislative affairs for the National Reconnaissance Office.
Outside of government, Isham held several executive management roles with government contractors BAE, High Performance Technologies and L-1 Identity Solutions.
Isham has also served on the boards of FCi Federal, Navstar and HyTrust Inc., and has been a national security adviser for MacAulay-Brown, Inc.
Now, Isham will chair Tyto Athene’s new Executive Advisory Board.
“Joanne brings unique skills and perspectives that will help our Executive Team navigate our strategic growth initiatives in the U.S. and abroad,” CEO Jeff Murray. “Her market and industry knowledge as well as her proven leadership will help Tyto Athene accelerate our growth and place us in a leadership position in our markets.”
The board intends to help the company find and capitalize on growth opportunities; provide counsel on acquisition strategies, government relations and market opportunities; and provide government outreach programs to expand business.
Isham said she’s excited to continue her longstanding relationship with Arlington Capital Partners as chair of the board.
“Tyto is a very exciting company with experience and capabilities that have a significant impact for National Security and across Government more broadly,” she said. “I look forward to working closely with the Executive Team, the Tyto Athene Board, and long term relationships to help execute Tyto’s strategy.”
After the private-equity firm Arlington Capital Partners purchased Black Box’s government solutions division, it renamed the business Tyto Athene in September. The company is a full-service systems integrator and managed-services cmmunications system provider for the Justice Department and other civilian and federal agencies.
