Defense industry veteran Lynn Dugle who came out of retirement over two years ago to take the reins of Engility as CEO and who now steers the company through a $2.5 billion acquisition to SAIC has been honored with a lifetime achievement award.
The award comes from The Washington Business Journal’s editorial team, citing her over 30 years of success in the aerospace and defense industry and her 2-year turnaround of Engility, which included a 115 percent growth in stock price from the day she took over and the company’s highest-ever book-to-bill ratio in the third quarter of this year.
“Congratulations to Lynn on receiving this prestigious award. Her extensive career and bold leadership make her an extraordinary business woman and colleague,” said SAIC CEO Tony Moraco. “I am honored to have worked with Lynn and am proud to continue her legacy through SAIC’s acquisition of Engility. Following the close of the acquisition, I am excited to shepherd Engility into its next chapter as part of the SAIC family.”
Dugle became CEO at Engility in 2016, and president and chairman of the company’s board of directors in March 2018. During her tenure, Dugle helped the company pivot from competing for work on a lowest-price, technically basis and instead becoming a best-value, high-end systems engineering and technology solutions provider, the company said.
Also under her leadership, the company nabbed its largest-ever contract, an intelligence community win valued at over $400 million, awarded in 2018.
Dugle was previously honored in 2017 as one of The Washington Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business. WashingtonExec named her one of the Top 25 GovCon Execs to Watch in 2018.
Before joining Engility, Dugle was the president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services and also held other leadership roles at Raytheon, ADC Telecommunications and Texas Instruments.
