Salient CRGT has been awarded a $5.7 million subcontract to deliver software development support services to the National Cancer Institute’s Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology.

Salient will work with prime contractor Unissant Inc. to support the Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology, which uses data science, informatics and IT to support NCI’s mission to improve cancer prevention and treatment.

Salient CRGT said it has supported NCI’s CBIIT for more than six years, and it looks forward to leveraging that past experience and its team of digital service experts to support CBIIT’s quest for actionable and life-changing insights for cancer researchers, doctors and patients.

“The CBIIT is continuously exploring opportunities to optimize cost-efficiency,” Salient CRGT CEO Brad Antle said. “Our Digital Service Innovation Center is in the forefront of developing new techniques to rapidly implement Agile software development and DevOps technologies while minimizing expenses. Our goal is to provide the center with quality, cost-effective solutions that positively impact the lives of the cancer patients it supports.”

The CBIIT implements agile software development and DevOps practices and seeks further expertise to reduce costs and optimize process development on a variety of CBIIT projects, Salient CRGT said.
