David Dacquino Promoted to CEO of Serco Inc.

Serco Group has announced David Dacquino as new CEO of Serco Inc. (Serco’s Americas division) from Dan Allen, who back in February informed his intention to retire. Dacquino currently leads the company’s defense business, after joining Serco in 2015.

“I am delighted that Dave Dacquino will be succeeding Dan Allen in leading our Americas division,” said Rupert Soames, Serco Group chief executive. Dave has made an excellent job of transforming our defense business in the region over the last two years, and it now has a substantial pipeline of new bid opportunities. I am also grateful to Dan, who since 2013 has steered the division through some choppy waters, and we wish him a happy retirement.”

“It was a wise decision by the search and selection committee to consider all potential candidates in the market to include internal executives, because Dave is a logical choice for this role,” said Mark HuYoung, managing partner at Northwind Partners. “I might have placed a substantial bet on his selection prior to the announcement. He has almost four decades of experience with aerospace and defense products and services in both functional and operational leadership roles globally and domestically. Additionally, his prior experience as the CEO of the U.S. arm of a British-owned business and his tenure as a leader within Serco since late 2015 makes this a very seamless transition for both him and the organization.”

    Dacquino, himself, said the same:

“I am extremely excited to work with the entire Serco team as we carry forward the momentum of recent successes and continue to build Serco as ‘the high-performing public service delivery company. Over the past year and half at Serco, I have developed a deep appreciation for our people, values and the company’s strong commitment to providing services that are truly making a positive difference to our customers and the citizens.”
