Matt Egger
Senior Vice President of Space, CACI
Matt Egger is a proven, growth-oriented executive who exemplifies leadership through decisive action and strategic resource alignment as he paves the way for CACI to deliver innovative value in the space defense sector. He has practical experience in global operations, engineering development, maintenance support, and logistics, which serves him well in his role as the line of business leader for CACI’s mission-critical space market.
Since taking on this pivotal new role in July 2024, he effectively unified CACI’s ability to deliver efficiencies and optimize results for customers that seek to secure American dominance in space. Additionally, his strategic oversight resulted in a 100% recompete success rate for his team.
In his previous position as CACI’s vice president and division manager for space operations, launch and engineering, Egger oversaw the transformation of various key programs and critical initiatives for enhancing U.S. defense capabilities. He spearheaded efforts to ensure his division met and exceeded performance targets — effectively coordinating operations and optimizing technology procurement, design and deployment.
Across the board, Egger’s proactive approach helped customers tackle new problems and address the progressive challenges that arise in protecting U.S. superiority in the space domain.
“From pre-launch to mission complete, CACI’s end-to-end portfolio of space capabilities ensures we’re not just keeping pace with emerging threats — we’re staying ahead of them,” he said. “With our strong foundation and forward-thinking approach, we’re well-positioned to build on CACI’s legacy of success in space, and I’m honored to be at the helm of this key undertaking.”
Why Watch
In 2025, Egger and his line of business are focused on expanding CACI’s unique position by helping customers modernize their operations and prepare for future challenges. A key priority is advancing agile solutions — using faster, more flexible technologies, including software, to improve performance while reducing mission trailing costs. While Egger remains committed to delivering the technology and expertise that ensure secure and stable access to space, he is also driving innovation by developing new orchestration techniques to enhance resiliency.
“Matt is a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of space defense and a keen eye on the future,” said CACI President of U.S. Operations DeEtte Gray. “As we work to support our customers’ ever-evolving needs, his ability to bring together diverse capabilities and create a unified strategy has proven invaluable. Matt’s impactful leadership reinforces our role as a trusted partner in national security.”
Fun fact: Egger loves the outdoors. An avid fly fisherman, he can be found casting his line on the water or exploring new fishing spots when he’s not leading critical operations at CACI — balancing the complexities of space with a little peace and quiet on solid ground.
