    Kevin Kottman, TransUnion

    Kevin Kottman

Senior Vice President of U.S. Public Sector, TransUnion

Fraud costs the federal government up to $521 billion annually.

In 2024, Kevin Kottman’s proudest achievement was leading the Public Sector team during launch of TransUnion’s OneTru, a solution enablement platform designed to combat this staggering challenge. By leveraging TransUnion’s authoritative data assets, cloud-enabled infrastructure and advanced AI and machine learning, OneTru delivers a more complete and persistent picture of constituents, he said.

The platform empowers government agencies to detect, mitigate and prevent fraud by linking structured and unstructured data, enhancing program integrity and ensuring more efficient operations. At its core, OneTru embodies TransUnion’s idea of Information for Good, Kottman said.

    Why Watch

In 2025, Kottman’s team is helping agencies tackle increasing fraud threats across channels. With stolen identity data widely available and advanced technologies enabling sophisticated schemes, his team focuses on evaluating risk, verifying identities and authenticating users to prevent fraud and protect program integrity. As the new administration targets federal spending cuts, public agencies must effectively detect and address these growing threats, he said.

In 2024, TransUnion Public Sector helped thousands of government agencies combat fraud, enhance engagement and streamline investigations. In 2025, the company will focus on strengthening program integrity and efficiency with advanced fraud, communications, investigations and marketing solutions.

“We aim to be the first partner agencies think of for real-time risk assessment, identity verification, call spoofing protection, caller authentication and audience targeting,” Kottman said. “Our commitment to supporting government agencies in providing reliable, accessible and equitable services remains steadfast.”
