Intelligent Waves has promoted Whitney Barrera to chief people officer to lead the company’s human resources strategy.

Barrera previously served as Intelligent Waves’ vice president of talent. She has 18 years’ experience in talent acquisition, compensation, talent management, leadership development and training; and 14 years’ experience leading HR professionals and people managers within government contracting.

“We are excited to promote Whitney Barrera to our executive leadership team,” said Intelligent Waves CEO Tony Crescenzo. “As VP of Talent, Whitney has assembled an outstanding team of recruiters who have contributed significantly to our growth,” Crescenzo said. “As a Washington Post Top Workplace in 2024, Whitney’s new role as IW’s chief people officer will be expanded to include leading IW’s human resources strategy and our excellent HR team.”
