The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 25, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 16.
Next is Vincent DiFronzo, senior vice president of the Air Force/DODAC business unit in SAIC’s National Security and Space Sector, and finalist in the DoD Executive of the Year, Public Company category. Here, he shares key achievements and his focus areas going forward.
What key achievements did you have in 2023?
Perhaps my team’s greatest accomplishment in 2023 has been the rapid advancement of critical customer missions. This year has seen tremendous advancements in Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control and enterprise-level IT where we are rapidly enabling new mission capabilities leveraging cloud and digital modernization.
Our CJADC2-focused Cloud Based Command and Control program went to initial operating capability one year after award and we are making important progress with coalition interoperability on multiple fronts. Our C2 and other mission customers are heavily leveraging the Air Force’s Cloud One, for which we are constantly enhancing capabilities. Our data solutions are critical to our work across the combatant commands. The team has delivered a 25% revenue increase over the last year, enabling growth opportunities for our team.
What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the future of the nation?
We are living in a world with rapidly evolving threats. Staying ahead of those challenges requires a thoughtful approach to data that hasn’t been fully realized in the past. In my Air Force career, as a fighter pilot with several downrange C2 assignments, I experienced the shortfalls that we have today.
Producing decision quality information for the right people at the right time is certainly complex, but we have empowering technology at our fingertips.
This opportunity is a primary focus for me and our SAIC team which requires developing and selecting the most advanced technologies and arming our people with the right skills and processes to produce high confidence solutions.
This will equip decision makers with superior information at headquarters through the tactical edge, enabling the nation to better deter threats and make our world a safer place.
