Lisa Sherhart has been promoted to chief human resources officer at Accenture Federal Services. She will oversee talent acquisition, inclusion and diversity, learning and development, retention and advancement, HR technology and more in her new role, starting Dec. 1.
She succeeds Susann Bresnahan, who’s retiring after a 45-year career with Accenture Federal Services and Accenture.
Bresnahan will remain a strategic advisor to the company through the end of the fiscal year.
“I’m honored and thrilled to step into the Chief Human Resources Officer role,” Sherhart said. “Among my highest priorities will be ensuring Accenture Federal Services remains a top destination for the best people with the next-generation skills necessary to deliver mission success for our clients. I’m grateful to Sue Bresnahan for being an incredible leader, role model, and mentor. I wish her every happiness in retirement following her exceptional career with our organization.”
Sherhart has been the deputy HR director since 2012, actively participating in various HR programs, such as leading the company’s I&D efforts and managing personnel transitions for companies Accenture Federal Services acquired.
“I’m excited for Lisa Sherhart and can’t wait to see her reach new heights at our company in creating the programs, paths, and possibilities that empower our people to do their best work and be their best selves,” said John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services. “I extend my sincere gratitude to Sue Bresnahan for her leadership to our team, exemplifying a people-first mindset, and for creating an environment where our people can advance, grow, and thrive.”
