    Erwin Villiger, LMI

    Erwin Villiger

    Principal of Sustainability, LMI

Erwin Villiger brings actionable solutions to the federal government’s toughest challenges. Working with LMI’s solutions-driven technology studio, the Forge, Villiger helped fill the gaps in climate risk knowledge and understanding through innovative solution development.

Offering actionable insight into how climate change can impact and shift risk profiles, and what impact that change could have on supply chains and critical infrastructure, is one example of Villiger’s solution development.

“Erwin is a visionary and leader in sustainability, climate risk, and national security,” said  Rebecca Graupmann, vice president of infrastructure, energy and environment for LMI. “His ability to identify and articulate the government’s emerging challenges and needs allows him to bring together the right teams across business units to develop original solutions that deliver what our government customers need.”

    Why Watch

Villiger and the climate team are implementing new risk platforms for government customers that enable them to evaluate climate impacts across the country and integrate that knowledge into plans and operations. He is focused on developing a capability to address the nation’s methane emissions from oil and gas infrastructure. This will greatly improve leak detection and monitoring, effectively tackling a critical component of the greenhouse gas problem.

“Climate change is a fundamental national security issue. If your citizens are not secure, your nation is not secure,” he said. “LMI is working with the government to develop solutions to climate challenges, a task that will remain for decades if we do not take concerted action. Both within and outside of LMI’s solution development team, it is everyone’s responsibility to work toward solutions to the climate crisis.”
