Accenture Federal Services has added cybersecurity executive Shawn Wells to its cybersecurity practice as managing director of cybersecurity strategy and technology.
Wells previously served as global vice president of solution architecture at CrowdStrike. He brings more than two decades of experience developing advanced cybersecurity solutions.
“Shawn Wells is a proven cybersecurity team leader with a successful track record of solutions architecture across all sectors of the federal government,” said AFS Cybersecurity Practice Managing Director Aaron Faulkner. “His ability to make cutting-edge, commercial innovations enterprise-ready for federal agencies will prove an outstanding value-add for our client portfolio.”
Prior to CrowdStrike, Wells was the chief security strategist for Red Hat’s public sector. He also has previous expertise as a solutions architect for OpenStack implementations at NRO, Lockheed Martin and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
“Understanding how and where cyber threats originate, building capabilities to counter adversaries, and scaling a robust cybersecurity program requires a proven track record in operationalizing technology,” Wells said. “I particularly look forward to advancing Accenture Federal Services’ continued investments to commercialize and drive cutting-edge solution architectures at scale.”
Wells is a recipient of WashingtonExec’s Pinnacle Award for Cyber Industry Executive of the Year. He co-authored the OpenStack Security Guide, which chronicles cyber lessons learned from deployments across industry and the U.S. government.
