Dr. Stephen Ondra is the new chief medical adviser for MITRE’s work as operator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Alliance to Modernize Healthcare federally funded research and development center.
“Steve’s experience as a business innovator, health insurance executive, clinician, researcher, veteran, and public policy official will bring a unique vantage point to the complex health and human services problems facing our government sponsors,” said Kim Warren, vice president and director of the Health FFRDC.
The Health FFRDC is sponsored by CMS and available to all operating and staff divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services.
In his new role, Ondra will support all HHS organizations by providing thought leadership, guiding project teams and building partnerships with the private sector.
Prior to joining MITRE, Ondra was CEO of Cygnus-AI Inc., a company specializing in artificial intelligence and clinical decision support tools for diagnostic radiology. He is also the founder of North Star Healthcare Consulting LLC and served on the board of directors of Triple-S Management and electroCore.
“His experience will provide new perspectives to tackle hard questions and reimagine approaches to achieve health and well-being for all,” Warren added.
