MITRE has promoted two longtime corporate executives: Dr. Jay Schnitzer now serves as senior vice president and chief medical and technology officer; and Wilson Wang now is senior vice president and chief financial officer.
“I’m pleased to have Jay and Wilson join our executive leadership team, and both are critical to delivering on our mission of solving problems for a safer world,” said MITRE President and CEO Jason Providakes.
In his new position, Schnitzer directs and manages MITRE’s $70 million independent research and development program, develops corporate technology strategy, and leads critical national initiatives in health and life sciences.
“Jay manages more than 200 independent R&D programs annually, allowing our talent to discover, create and lead new innovation for our sponsors and partners,” Providakes said.
Since joining MITRE, Wang has created new enterprise capabilities for financial analytics, while ensuring continued fiduciary rigor in enterprise accounting, internal audit, contracts and pricing, and financial planning and analysis.
As vice president and CFO since 2018, Wang has helped to drive MITRE’s investment and capital allocation strategies, delivering efficient operating models with financial stewardship in the public interest.
“Wilson’s leadership helps ensure our fiscal health and allows our teams to deliver impact with speed, risk-taking and agility,” Providakes said.
