The Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority has awarded Cognosante a contract to provide its Exchange Assister and Navigator services in support of the commonwealth’s state-based health insurance marketplace.
Cognosante and its partners will provide outreach and no-cost enrollment assistance across Pennsylvania to those seeking health insurance coverage.
Pennsylvania is currently transitioning to a state-based health insurance marketplace named Pennie. This new system aims to improve the accessibility and affordability of individual market health coverage and will be live at the beginning of the 2021 open enrollment period, which runs from Nov. 1, 2020-Jan. 15, 2021.
Under this contract, Cognosante will use its background in supporting HealthCare.gov as well as project management and technology expertise to aid historically hard-to-reach, underserved and uninsured populations within the commonwealth. Cognosante has partnered with four Pennsylvania organizations to form a delivery team, including three small businesses.
“We are excited to partner with such a broad range of local experts who understand the uniqueness of Pennsylvania residents’ needs and who fully grasp the importance of state-based healthcare delivery,” said Karen Gage, general manager of Cognosante’s State Solutions Business Unit. “This diverse team composition positions us well to support Pennsylvania in its transition journey.”
