Advisory, consulting, outsourcing and technology services firm Guidehouse has partnered with the U.S. Census Bureau in its efforts to engage every household in the once-every-decade count of everyone living in the nation.
Through communications outreach, public relations and program management, the Guidehouse team will help to mobilize public participation in this year’s decennial census.
The 2020 Census counts every person living in the U.S. and five of its territories. The count is mandated by the Constitution and conducted by the Census Bureau. Each home receives an invitation to respond to a short questionnaire, which can be completed online, by phone or by mail.
The results of the 2020 Census will shape the future of communities for years to come. The census provides critical data lawmakers use to allocate funding for critical services like health care, education and infrastructure, and that businesses use to plan for economic growth.
The results of the census also determine the number of seats each state will have in the House of Representatives, and they are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts.
