IT and scientific services and solutions company A-TEK, Inc. has named James “Jim” Ballard to its board of directors.

A-TEK President and CEO Kathryn Freeland described Ballard’s track record as “impressive, saying he has “a wealth of experience expanding revenue through both organic growth and multiple acquisitions” to help the company meet its growth goals.

Over a career that spans four decades, Ballard held executive positions in the military and government services market. Now the chairman at Preferred Systems Solutions, Ballard also served as the company’s CEO and president. He oversaw and supported all facets of PSS and set the strategic direction of the company.

Ballard also worked as president of PSS’ Federal Services Group following its acquisition of Global Services & Solutions, a company he founded and led. Before founding GSS, Ballard was the president of Peror Systems Government Services, where he grew annual revenues from $57 million to $650 million

“I am honored to be joining A-TEK’s Board and I look forward to working with an exceptional company known for providing critical technology innovations to U.S. federal civilian and national security agencies,” Ballard said.
