CALIBRE Systems, Inc. has promoted Richard Pineda to president and CEO, succeeding 15-year company veteran Joe Martore set to retire May 31.
“It is a distinct privilege to succeed Joe Martore as CEO of CALIBRE,” Pineda said. “As we embark on our 31st year in operation, I am thrilled to lead our great company of engaged employee-owners to the next level of success.”
Pineda joined CALIBRE in November as part of the company’s acquisition of SPEAR, Inc., where he was the co-founder and CEO. Earlier in his career, Pineda was president of Dell Services Federal Government.
Pineda currently serves on the board of directors for several organizations, including the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, and Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum.
Over the last several months, Pineda and CALIBRE has focused on integrating acquired companies and contract vehicles, transitioning new key leaders, and architecting the ways the company will service its clients with innovative management consulting and transformational solutions.
“Looking forward, Richard Pineda is a highly effective manager and leader,” said Joseph Reynolds, vice chairman of the board of directors. “His depth of knowledge and vast management experience will be an invaluable asset to the company. We are confident that he is the dynamic leader who will guide us successfully into the future.”
And according to Martore, CALIBRE has chosen a proven leader to succeed him.
“His talents will position CALIBRE to continue successfully executing its vision and mission. I have worked closely with Richard and the Board to implement a careful, deliberate, and effective transition, one that ensures the continued success of this wonderful company we have all worked so hard to build,” Martore said.
