Lockheed Martin has tapped long-time communications leader Dean Acosta as senior vice president of communications, effective May 20.

Acosta has almost 30 years’ experience in communications and journalism and most recently was vice president and chief communications officer for Resideo, a smart home technology company. When Resideo spun off from Honeywell, Acosta was tasked with naming and branding the company and the Day 1 launch campaign.

Before that, Acosta was vice president of global communications for Honeywell’s Home and Building Technologies business, and prior to that held the same role for Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions business.

Acosta also served in communications roles at Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Engineering and Technology organization, Boeing’s Space Exploration business and NASA.

“Dean is an impressive leader who has proven himself in both public service and in the private sector,” said Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO Marillyn Hewson. “His expertise and experience will help us communicate how our company works every day to protect lives, enhance security, and advance the frontiers of science and human understanding. We welcome Dean to the Lockheed Martin team.”
