Carl Buffington has been chosen to lead Koniag Government Services’ growth strategies as its new chief growth officer, bringing his more than 20 years of experiences in the technology space to the position.

As former ASRC Federal chief technology officer, Buffington helped shape innovative customer solutions in the federal intelligence, defense, civilian and health IT markets.

He also served as a vice president of enterprise solutions at Vistronix, which was acquired by ASRC Federal in 2016, and as president and CEO of a software development company specializing in mobile, web and cloud solutions.

In his new role, Buffington will develop and implement growth strategies in areas of operational collaboration, mergers and acquisitions, executive leadership and business development, according to the company.

“Koniag has an aggressive growth strategy to create opportunities for our customers, employees and Alaska Native communities,” said Koniag CEO Ron Unger. “Carl is a big part of our plan. We are excited to have him on board and know he will help KGS accelerate growth while maintaining our high standards of quality.”

Buffington said he’s excited to join Koniag’s leadership team and help grow its position as a leader in the government services market.
