Her career experience includes stints at Raytheon, Blackbird Technologies Inc., and ManTech International Corp. From 1995 to 2000, she served in the Navy as a cryptologic officer.
In November, Novetta acquired Berico Technologies in a move to further strengthen its capabilities in cloud engineering and architecture solutions. Gates said the Berico move created “a powerhouse of talent and innovative technologies to support our customers.”
In 2018, Novetta added three new members to its board of directors: Bill Varner, former president of ManTech Mission, Cyber, and Intelligence Solutions group; Joe Logue, former senior partner and executive vice president with Booz Allen Hamilton’s Defense, Intelligence and International group; and most recently, Larry Prior, former president and CEO of CSRA, Inc.
The company is also expanding its partnership with Amazon Web Services. Novetta is one of only four companies to earn both Amazon Web Services Government and Machine Learning Competencies. With ongoing recognition as a top place to work, Novetta focuses both on the candidate pipeline as well as ensuring access to technical training and certifications for current staff.
“I’ve always been passionate about creating an environment which motivates talented people to be innovative,” Gates said. “This has been critical to driving enhancements to our capabilities in machine learning, big data and cloud technologies.”
Gates closed 2018 with 10 percent revenue growth and 14 percent EBITDA growth, and looks forward to continued expansion in 2019 as she leads Novetta advances in applying machine learning and AI to reduce data processing times and increase higher-value insights.
