Mastercard has hired Jeanne Tisinger, a former deputy director of the CIA, as a senior cybersecurity adviser.
Tisinger, a three-decade veteran of the CIA, will work on the company’s security strategy and public policy initiatives, and will contribute to Mastercard’s efforts to enhancing current and future security talent, the company said.
“People shouldn’t have to choose between convenience and security,” Mastercard President and CEO Ajay Banga said. “They want to have the peace of mind that their personal information, money and identity are secure. That’s what Jeanne has done throughout her career and what she’ll add to our team.”
As deputy CIA director, Tisinger was responsible for the agency’s physical and cybersecurity infrastructure and IT across more than 100 countries. She previously served as the CIA’s chief information officer and director of global infrastructure, managing and coordinating the agency’s data analytics programs.
