IT infrastructure support contractor NuAxis Innovations has been included on the Inc. 5000 list of the country’s fastest-growing privately held companies at No. 2,641.
NuAxis Innovations’ CEO Imran Akram founded the company with his wife in 2002.
“I, of course, had no idea that the dot-com bubble would burst,” Akram said. “I just knew that the [National Park Service] and Dept. of Interior still needed the services I provided as an engineer, so I made the decision to follow that path. The NPS and I had built a very strong relationship over the years, and they wanted to continue working with me, so I decided to set up a company to continue supporting them.”
“We are so excited to be recognized for our growth and achievements with inclusion on this prestigious list,” Akram said. “NuAxis has been expanding rapidly over the past few years, and we look forward to continuing on this path while helping government agencies solve their IT challenges.”
NuAxis started with just Akram and his wife working with just one agency. Within three years, he had 30 employees. Today, 15 years after founding NuAxis Innovations, the company continues to serve NPS, but now also holds sizable prime contracts with other federal agencies — including the departments of Interior and Labor — and has grown to more than 350 employees in 22 states.
The annual Inc. 5000 event honoring all the companies on the list will be held Oct. 18-20 in San Antonio.
Inc.’s annual list features the nation’s most successful private companies that meet and exceed validated operational criteria every year. Started in 1982, the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s most successful private companies has become the hallmark of entrepreneurial success.
