    Scott Recinos, LMI

    Scott Recinos

Senior Vice President of Homeland Security Market, LMI

Scott Recinos worked hard to foster a culture of excellence within his team, resulting in continued success in delivering exceptional value to customers. Their unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction led to winning all re-competes this year, further solidifying LMI’s position as a trusted partner to DHS.

“I am incredibly proud of our team’s relentless dedication to exceeding expectations and their ability to consistently deliver high-quality solutions,” Recinos said. “Our team’s strong performance and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in driving our success and positioning us for continued growth in the future.”

Josh Wilson, LMI president of markets, growth and technology, said Recinos’ leadership transformed the company’s homeland security practice.

“By championing collaboration and integrating cutting-edge technology, Scott ensures that LMI consistently delivers impactful solutions that proactively address complex security challenges and strengthen the long-term security of our nation,” Wilson said.

    Why Watch

In 2024, Recinos and his team are focused on establishing LMI as a leading problem solver in homeland security, building on their success with agencies including Customs and Border Protection, the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office and DHS Science and Technology.

Using advanced digital capabilities, including innovations like LIGER, they aim to position LMI as the go-to partner for integrating advanced technology into government operations. This year, they’re not just safeguarding the nation but setting a new standard for how technology enhances national security and drives rapid innovation. Their goal is to solidify LMI’s reputation for legacy expertise and forward-thinking solutions.

Recinos said his passion for the DHS mission is rooted in his early experience as Border Patrol’s chief engineer for tactical infrastructure.

“Over the past 20 years, my work with DHS and its component agencies fueled my commitment to delivering expertise and innovative solutions that help our customers tackle their toughest challenges more effectively,” he said. “I also prioritize building partnerships that enhance our homeland security capabilities and increase our value to the government. This holistic approach allows me to combine operational experience with strategic vision, ensuring we continue to provide cutting-edge solutions to protect our nation’s borders.”

Fun fact: Recinos spent part of his childhood as a magician, performing under the name “Mr. Magic.” Although his grandfather, a professional magician, passed away before he was born, Recinos learned about him through stories from his mother. For many years, she took him to a magic shop in Washington, D.C., where magicians who knew his grandfather shared his signature tricks. Those moments ignited Recinos’ love for magic, leading him to perform in talent shows. While he no longer practices magic, those early experiences taught him the value of confidence, creativity and quick thinking — skills he continues to use today.
