Drone Aviation Holding Corp. (DAC), a manufacturer of tethered drones and lighter-than-air aerostats, announced May 4 that Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn (Ret.) has been named Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors. In this new role, Flynn will work with Drone Aviation’s growing list of Dept. of Defense, government agency and commercial customers to harness the unique data collection, communications and surveillance capabilities of the Company’s tethered tactical aerostat and drone platforms.
He also joined Drone Aviation’s Strategic Advisory Board, where he will advise on business development and product capabilities, advancements and applications.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work closely with General Flynn, a colleague and an individual I personally admire, to advance our growing DoD business, as we expand the tactical intelligence and data-gathering capabilities of our aerial platforms,” the company’s newly appointed CEO and Chairman Jay Nussbaum said. “General Flynn’s invaluable experience and insights into the requirements of military intelligence and surveillance operations will help ensure that our tethered solutions, today and in the future, will continue to meet the needs of our soldiers and security forces at home and abroad as they respond to evolving threats.”
“For over three decades, I have been directly involved with supporting our fighting men and women through the collection and use of information and firmly believe that now, more than ever, the success of our national defense and the defense of our allies has never been more dependent on access to actionable intelligence and superior communications,” Flynn said. “I believe that there is a clear and growing need for novel and flexible solutions such as those produced by Drone Aviation that can assist our forces to adapt to the realities we are now facing around the world. Having evaluated the Company’s technologies, I believe they can positively impact our military’s defense and situational awareness and that is why I am joining Jay and his team in expanding the role of persistent aerial solutions in the marketplace.”
