SOS International LLC (SOSi) announced Dec. 15 the launch of a new medical support division to provide medical services to the U.S. government and large private companies in the oil, gas and mining sectors.

“SOSi is accustomed to working in the world’s most challenging environments,” SOSi President and CEO Julian Setian said. “We are committed to ensuring that our clients, partners and employees receive the best possible care, no matter where they work. We are introducing a number of innovations in telemedicine that improve the level of care typically provided in these environments, and formally expanding into this area gives us the opportunity to extend those innovations to other U.S. and coalition government missions and private sector clients around the world.”

SOSi’s expansion into the medical operations field builds off its current work in Iraq, where the company has been providing base operations and life-support services to the U.S. military, its coalition military partners and several other large defense and aerospace contractors since 2013. As part of its expansion, SOSi is introducing a range of advanced telemedicine services, allowing its staff instant access to the highest level medical expertise at the nation’s leading medical centers.
