Reston, Va.-based Leidos announced Jan. 20 that it will be sponsoring the Washington Wizards “Defending the Rim” program and donating $100 for every blocked shot during the entire season to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) in honor of those in the military.
Additionally, the USO (United Service Organizations) will honor those in the armed forces on “Military Appreciation Night,” when 400 active duty members and their families attend the Wizards’ Jan. 21 game.
“We are committed to support our military veterans, troops and their families through several organizations including the USO and Special Operations Warrior Foundation,” Leidos CEO Roger Krone said. “At Leidos, we place great value on the contributions and sacrifices of our veterans and the men and women in uniform who serve our country.”
The USO offers a range of programs and entertainment events around the world to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families. SOWF provides support and assistance to active and reserve personnel serving in the U.S. Special Operations Command. Special Operations Forces are comprised of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps personnel.
