WashingtonExec Summer Reading List Series:
With rising temperatures beckoning the start of patio cookout season and the summer solstice just days behind us, WashingtonExec asked area executives which books they planned to peruse this summer.

Dick Bodson is the president of Subsystem Technologies Inc., an advanced engineering, analytics and management consulting firm based in Arlington, Va.
Bodson told WashingtonExec he looks forward to reading about bolstering personal relationships this summer while delving into Sid Fuchs’ book on strategic networking, Get off the Bench: Unlocking the Power of Strategic Networking through Relationships.
“There are two indisputable must reads this summer. [Fuchs’ book] is a natural refresher that’s important to anyone who wants to succeed in business,” Bodson said. “The theme of Sid’s book is great and he is a great fellow.”
Bodson’s second pick was the newly released West Point ’41: The Class That Went to War and Shaped America by Anne Kazel-Wilcox and PJ Wilcox. The book, released in early June, narrates the tale of those who graduated from West Point Military Academy directly into battle — a story Bodson said he holds close to his heart.
“My father Col. Henry Bodson (Ret.) graduated in that class and is featured in several chapters of the book,” Bodson said. “These men are the Greatest Generation and are heroes to me. No son is more proud. I just got the book and am reading.”
Bodson’s company on Monday won an FAA contract with its strategic partner LS Technologies LLC. Read about that here.
