NCI, Inc., a Reston, Va.-based IT and professional services and solutions provider, announced last week it will provide air carrier analysis support (ACAS) services to the U.S. Air Force under a contract valued at $3.5 million.

The work — which consists of a six-month base period and additional one-year option periods that extend through 2018 — will position the USAF’s Air mobility Command (AMC) to follow through with its congressionally mandated duties to oversee commercial air carriers and manage the Civil Reserve Air Fleet.

NCI is set under the contract to “maintain and enhance the ACAS system and software, and continue the modernization, performance, maintenance and integration of the ACAS with AMC corporate applications and interfaces,” according to a company press statement released last week.

NCI will also conduct system and software requirements analysis, provide project management, system and software integration activities and configuration management/program documentation among other services and support.

“The Air Mobility Command utilizes ACAS to provide worldwide support to essential ongoing military operations,” said NCI President Brian J. Clark. “We are proud to continue our role in supporting this mission-critical application with our systems development and integration efforts.”

In February, the company secured a $9 million contract to support the Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems’ (PEO EIS) Project Director Reserve Component Automation Systems (RCAS).
