Atlantic Media’s Government Executive Media Group today announced it has appointed Camille Tuutti to serve as Executive Editor of Nextgov — the group’s federal technology information publication.

The former FedScoop editorial director will replace Katherine Peters to lead editorial strategy and operations for Nextgov starting June 9 after most recently serving as the FedScoop.com editorial director and editing StateScoop.com

She will also be tasked in her post with providing editorial leadership for Nextgov Prime — an event set for Sept. 8 through 9 in Washington, D.C. that focuses on the future of government and technology.

“I am excited to join the leading federal technology media brand and be part of its mission to provide I.T. leaders with the ideas, trends and insights they need to design the government of the future,” Tuutti said. “And I can’t wait to help make Nextgov Prime the event of the year in 2014.”

CIOs, government influencers and technology leaders will gather for this year’s Nextgov Prime to discuss “Embracing Gov2020: The Art of the Possible.”

At FedScoop she led efforts to launch video segments and podcasts featuring individuals of consequence in the federal IT community and performed in-depth analyses of digital government and government reform.

“Camille’s niche experience gives her a deep understanding of the federal government and government contracting marketplaces that I am confident will prime her well in her position with Nextgov,” said JD Kathuria, the founder and president of WashingtonExec. “We wish her all the best in her next and future endeavors,” he said.

Tuutti is also fluent in Swedish and Finnish.
