Former Marine Corps Instructor Dexter Conrad will join Intelligent Decisions (ID) as business development manager of the company’s training and simulation unit based in Orlando, Fl., ID announced earlier last month.
He will be tasked in his post with expanding the training and simulation programs currently used within the Defense Department and several civilian agencies, including the Homeland Security Department, the State Department and in the healthcare space.
ID, a global IT systems integrator based in Maryland, opened the Orlando office last year to expand its training and simulation practice. Adding Dexter to the team capitalizes on the need for “fully immersive, transportable combat training systems that allow squads located across the country to train together” virtually when they use repeatable combat scenarios, the company wrote in a press statement.
“Our training and simulation practice has grown out of ID’s commitment to serving government mission needs through innovative solutions,” said Clarence Pape, ID’s vice president for training and simulation. “Dexter’s experience will allow ID to better prepare our military for the situations they will encounter in theater and will help us identify new opportunities in the training and simulation space.”
Conrad previously served as a National Leadership Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy and served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring as a combat-wounded veteran.
Before working at ID, Conrad also served at Engility Corporation and L-3 Communications.
He said he looks forward to addressing the training needs he saw while serving as a Marine Corps instructor in his new role as business development manager.
