The American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) has opened registration for its “Management of Change” (MOC) education and training event set for May 18 through May 20 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, Md.

Former National Security Agency (NSA) Director Keith Alexander, Retired Brig. General Allison Hickey and Seth Harris,  the 11th United States Deputy Secretary of Labor under President Barack Obama, will keynote the event geared at exploring ways to rebuild through public-private partnership the “Government Brand.”

Alexander spoke to SIGNAL Magazine last June about NSA plans when he was commander of U.S. Cyber Command to reorganize the Department of Defense (DoD) cyber community by combining military communications and intelligence community forces to combat cyber security threats.

The 400 expected speakers and attendees at this year’s event  — the 34th of its kind — will collaborate through small interactive workshops to  “develop actionable deliverables to change perception and rebuild” the government brand, according to the ACT-IAC website.

ACT-IAC is a non-profit public-private partnership that tasks itself with applying information technology to improve government capacities.

Groups at the May event will explore topics including whether government should act as its own systems integrator, the value in open data and an open, flexible government, the logistics of implementing continuous diagnostics and mitigation, whether agile is real in federal IT and topics in government risk-taking for innovation.

Participants at last year’s event discussed modernizing through cloud data and the power of big data.
