Leidos (LDOS), a national security, health and engineering solutions company, has appointed Dr. S. Gulu Gambhir to serve as Corporate Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately. Gambhir was previously the National Security Sector (NSS) CTO and acting Leidos CTO.

“Gulu brings both deep technical experience and incomparable Leidos institutional knowledge to the CTO role,” said John Jumper, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer . “I’m especially pleased that this role provides us the opportunity to promote such a strong talent from within the organization.”

Gambhir will lead the corporate Office of Technology while continuing his sector-level responsibilities. He will work with line organizations in all areas related to science and technology across the company, guiding investments to fuel growth and developing and recruiting technical talent to help solve customers’ most pressing problems.

Prior to joining SAIC in 2009, Gambhir served as director of Northrop Grumman’s Science and Technology Operating Unit of TASC, holding a variety of line, program management, and technical leadership roles. Previously, he worked at Space Applications Corporation and COMSAT Laboratories.

Gambhir holds a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia, a Master of Science in operations research, and a Doctor of Science in systems engineering from The George Washington University. He is a current member of the AFCEA Technology Committee and contributes his time and expertise to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education, serving as a member of the foundation board of VirginiaFIRST and on the advisory board of the Children’s Science Center.
