    This week, the 2013 Greater Washington Government Contractor Award finalists were revealed. Accenture and MacB are among the nominees for Contractor of the Year, and MacB’s President and CEO Sid Fuchs is one of the finalists for Executive of the Year. Ernst Volgenau, Founder and Chairman of SRA International, is this year’s Hall of Fame honoree. For the full list of finalists, click here.

    We recently featured Dan Wilbricht of Dell Software Group. Wilbricht discussed the challenges of data analytics programs and big data’s impact on the Intelligence Community. To read our interview with the executive, click here.

    Also featured this week was Padmanabhan Seshaiyer, Director of COMPLETE (Center for Outreach in Mathematics Professional Learning and Educational Technology) at George Mason University. Seshaiyer is also the Director of the school’s STEM Accelerator program. He talked to us about he became involved in leading that program, why STEM is critical to the future of kids today and mentoring high-school students. Read our interview with Seshaiyer here.

    In this week’s news, A-T Solutions made the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies for the 7th consecutive year. Also, STG Inc. joined the TechAmerica Foundation, Women in Technology appointed Phyllis Kolmus President, CGI Federal Inc. won a position on a $6 billion BPA from DHS and MacB promoted Fred Norman to Senior Vice President and General Manager of its Missions Systems Group.

    Some of the upcoming events include the Big CONNECTpreneur Fall Forum on September 10th, INSA’s IC Summit on September 12th and the Tower Club Business Mixer September 23rd. INSA will also be presenting its annual Achievement Awards on November 13th.
