Deltek today announced that it has acquired Acumen, an Austin-based provider of project management solutions and services. Acumen offers project planning, analytics and risk management solutions that help companies develop achievable and profitable projects.

“Acumen is a very successful company that offers innovative solutions unmatched in the marketplace,” said Mike Corkery, president and CEO of Deltek. “We share a common commitment to improve how our customers manage their projects, programs and overall business. Adding Acumen to our portfolio makes our market-leading solutions even stronger and cements Deltek as the place to go for project managers that want to deliver exceptional projects.”

He added, “This acquisition again demonstrates our commitment to continually expanding and enhancing our overall offering for our customers. We welcome Dan Patterson and the entire Acumen team to Deltek and look forward to growing our business together.”

The firm enhances Deltek’s planning capabilities, giving companies more power to optimally plan and manage projects from beginning-to-end in alignment with the realistic goals and constraints of their businesses.

“We are thrilled to become part of Deltek and to take the next step in the Acumen journey,” said Dr. Dan Patterson, president and CEO of Acumen. “In Deltek, we have found a fantastic partner that shares our goal of propelling project-based businesses to new heights of financial performance. Key to achieving that is making sure that projects are built upon a sound, realistic and achievable schedule basis, something that has been an elusive goal in the project management process. We are excited to be part of Deltek – together, we know we are going to make a big difference to the project management industry.”
