Last week, WashingtonExec hosted its annual social, member appreciation event at the Congressional Country Club. Members from each of WashingtonExec‘s councils connected with each other and heard from council leaders on future plans for the groups this year and next. DMI sponsored the event. In our latest interview, we spoke with Mike Fox of Accenture Federal Services. He spoke to us about the latest industry trends, some of the lessons he learned throughout his professional career and his favorite sports team: The Red Sox.

We have three guest columns this week that include Kris Collo of MicroPact, Susan Gabay of Bluestone Capital Partners and author Alan Berson. Collo’s column lets us in on ways to successfully build a BPM System while Gabay talks about her 2013 Market Perspectives. Berson’s column has to do with former NSA Contractor Edward Snowden and his leak of classified NSA documents. Berson breaks down ways companies can contain a possible future outburst from one of their employees.

In other news, there were a number of executive moves last week which include Bernie Guerry, who was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Intel Solutions Unit at GDIT. IntelliDyne announced multiple promotions to its senior leadership team, while ACT-IAC held elections; resulting in new members as well as promotions.

Don’t forget to register for the 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, hosted by the Young AFCEA Bethesda chapter. The event raises money for U.S. service members and will take place June 28, 2013 at the Golf Club at Lansdowne in Lansdowne, Va.
