The Fairfax Chamber’s Annual Women in Government Contracting event will take place Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner. The event will focus on and will feature the top women executives currently in the government contracting industry. While only a small percentage of women hold c-level positions in the private sector, the government contracting industry is seeing women in high level roles. About 300 people from the Northern Virginia Business Community will attend the event, and Kathryn Falk, Vice President of Public & Government Affairs, Cox Communications will moderate the program.

Speakers at this year’s Women in Government Contracting event include:

Linda Mills, Corporate Vice President, Operations, Northrop Grumman Corporation

Deb Alderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer & Acting Director, Civil Government Group, SRA International, Inc.

Babs Doherty, President & CEO, Eagle Ray, Inc.

Peggy Styer, CEO, Blackbird Technologies, Inc.

The women will discuss their insights into the role of mentorship, executive leadership, the balance between personal and professional success, the initiative needed to gain a seat at the table, the growing importance of diversity in the workplace and much more. They will also provide their unique perspectives on the outlooks for some of the top government contractors in the nation, and the sector as a whole.
