The Washington Business Journal recently recognized Lieutenant General Thomas P. Carney, Chairman of the Board at CALIBRE Systems Inc., with its 2013 Outstanding Director Award. The award honors outside directors whose service to their board has been exceptional. Gen. Carney was first elected to the board in 1999, which was followed by his election to the board as Chairman.

“General Carney’s approach in leading our Board is based on our corporate motto, ‘Our Success Follows Yours,’ and he actively participates in ensuring that our customers and our employees succeed,” said CEO and President of CALIBRE Joseph A. Matore, as he presented Carney with award. “As a result of his direction and vision, CALIBRE revenues have grown 600 percent and the company share value grew over 3,500 percent since he joined the Board in 1999.”

Under Gen. Carney’s leadership, CALIBRE completed its 23rd consecutive year of continuous profitable growth and 18th consecutive year of share value growth since the inception of CALIBRE’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

General Carney retired from the United States Army after 35 years of service.
