Ritz-Carlton Tysons CornerErnst & Young is announcing a nomination call for its Entrepreneur Of The Year honor that will be awarded at the Greater Washington Awards Gala on June 20, 2013 at the Ritz-Carlton at Tysons Corner. The prestigious business award honors outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate the commitment to leadership and achievement, and inspire others with their vision.To be eligible for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards, a nominee must be an owner or manager of a private or public company with primary responsibility for the recent performance of the business, as well as be an active member of top management. Non-founding entrepreneurs are eligible if the individual manages the business and assumes the associated risks. The nominee’s company must also be at least three years old.Businesses also have the opportunity to earn the newest award for 2013, the Ernst & Young Family Business Award of Excellence. This special honor recognizes leaders of outstanding entrepreneurial families with a culture and tradition of successfully balancing business and family issues, growing the business through innovation, and philanthropic or social engagement. The families support these traditions with sustainable, long-term strategies that include effective and transparent corporate governance.Once applications are received, an independent panel of judges will review and select the Greater Washington finalists and award recipients. Finalists and award recipient will be honored on Thursday, June 20 at the Greater Washington black-tie awards gala at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner. Greater Washington award recipients will then become eligible for national recognition and will be invited to attend the National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 16.
